Abby's Thoughts

🗓️ 4/27/26As an artist I ask myself all the time, “Does the world really need another painting, sculpture, dollhouse, craft or home décor item? Why do I feel led to be creative? Maybe I shouldn’t be doing this”.
I’m not going to go into great detail but I whole heartedly believe that God has designed us to have a passion to create and he put the knowledge inside of us to discover how. When He gave instructions to build his temple God called all kinds of expert crafters, artisans and artists to build and decorate His structures. God loves beautiful things. It is evident in His creation!
Just look around, and REALLY look. What is designed that didn’t involve a precise knowledge, skill or talent using art. Or you could say” Creativity.” Art is everywhere in everything!
So, a few things I see is a good reason to continue to be creative is, making things beautiful, expressing an idea, reflecting the world as it affects us, stress relief for the maker, finding a community, and even an income chain. I am sure there are many more reasons but to keep it short I will leave it to you to find your reasons.
Sometimes we just need to be reminded that being creative is ordained by the Ultimate Creator.
And the answer is “YES” the world does need it!
